CAMP HIGHLIGHT:
ANGEL ISLAND CAMP
Ages: 5 (Going into 1st grade) – 11
Angel Island State Park
9:15 am to 4:15 pm
Here’s your chance to experience over 25 years of summer camp tradition and the magic that makes Angel Island Camp, the camp kids always come back to! Each session, there is a new theme with different activities, so that you can attend all summer long. Campers will discover the island through games, crafts, science and explore its many trails & historic hideaways. Along the way, campers will be amazed by the breathtaking views of the bay and skyline.
Feast on a delicious BBQ every Wednesday! Campers will enjoy munching on hot dogs/hamburgers (vegetarian or meat), chips, salad, fruit, drinks and dessert.
On the last day of each session skilled instructors introduce campers to the equipment and sport of kayaking in Ayala Cove. Sea Trek Kayak, California’s premier sea kayaking outfitter operating since 1982, provides instruction, supervision and equipment. Following orientation, guides take small groups out to paddle briefly in the cove providing campers a “kayaker’s view” of Angel Island. Returning campers build on their previous kayak experience and become more confident each week with their newly acquired skills.
Session Dates/Themes
6/23-27: Survivor Challenge: Outwit, Outlast, Outplay! Join your “tribe”, create a tribal flag and compete in survivor style challenges everyday!
6/30-7/3: American Pastimes: Batter up! Participate in our home run derby and explore the newly renovated immigration station.
7/7-11: Wildlife Wonders: Discover the island’s wildlife on a hike led by an Angel Island docent. Wildlife Associates will join us for a show and we’ll have a vegetarian picnic.
7/14-18: Eco-Challenge: Hike to the top of Mount Livermore and challenge your climbing ability on our rock wall. Don’t forget to bring your mountain bike!
7/21-25: Wild West: Fire a canon at Camp Reynolds & participate in our watergun shootout. We’ll have an old fashioned camp barbeque.
7/28-8/1: Spy Kids: CSI Angel Island? The culprit could be a crafty raccoon or a sneaky seagull. Unravel the clues in our island mystery.
8/4-8: Island Sports Adventure: We’ll have an American Gladiators competition and a world cup soccer tournament. Put on your team colors for Color Wars!
8/11-15: Mad Scientists: Put on your lab coat & goggles! Build a volcano and make stomp rockets as we discover the mad world of science.
Fee: $315 per week; Due to the holiday, week three is Monday-Thursday and the fee is $252.
